Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using Humans of Code ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by HOC Techlabs LLP, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These terms govern your use of our curated hiring service, training programs, job coaching services, and interview preparation platform (collectively, the "Services"). If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Services.

Description of Services

Humans of Code operates three core services:

• Curated Hiring Service: Connecting companies with pre-vetted tech professionals. We conduct comprehensive technical assessments, background verifications, and skill evaluations to match exceptional developers with top companies. Companies pay for successful placements.
• Professional Training: Expert-led courses and training programs designed to upskill tech professionals in various technologies and frameworks. These are paid programs with specific enrollment terms and pricing.
• Job Coaching Services: Personalized career guidance and coaching sessions to help tech professionals advance their careers. Available as paid individual or package sessions.

We also offer an Interview Preparation Platform (launching February 2026) for subscription-based access to coding challenges, mock interviews, and preparation resources.

User Accounts and Verification

Acceptable Use

You agree to use our platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts
• Engage in any form of harassment or discrimination
• Spam or send unsolicited communications

Curated Hiring Service Terms

For Developers:

By participating in our curated hiring service, you agree to:

• Complete technical assessments and skill evaluations honestly and to the best of your ability
• Provide accurate information about your work history, education, and professional background
• Allow us to conduct background verification and reference checks
• Consent to sharing your profile, assessment results, portfolio, and evaluation data with prospective employers
• Participate in good faith when matched with hiring companies
• Attend scheduled interviews and respond promptly to company communications

We facilitate connections between pre-vetted developers and companies. We are not responsible for hiring decisions, employment terms, salary negotiations, or any disputes that may arise between you and employers. Final employment agreements are between you and the hiring company.

For Companies:

By using our curated hiring service, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information about your company, hiring needs, and job requirements
• Review candidate assessment reports and profiles in good faith
• Conduct interviews professionally and provide timely feedback
• Honor salary ranges and job descriptions provided to candidates
• Pay placement fees according to the agreed service agreement

Replacement Guarantee:

If a placed candidate leaves or is terminated within 2 months of their start date (for reasons other than company restructuring or role elimination), we will provide a replacement candidate at no additional placement fee. The replacement guarantee is valid for one replacement per original placement. This guarantee does not include refunds of the original placement fee.

Professional Training and Job Coaching

Our professional training and job coaching services are provided as paid offerings with specific pricing, schedules, and enrollment terms:

• Professional Training: Expert-led courses with fixed pricing and enrollment periods. Refunds are available according to our refund policy if requested within the specified cancellation window.
• Job Coaching: One-on-one career guidance sessions with personalized support. Sessions must be scheduled in advance and are subject to coach availability.

We do not guarantee specific career outcomes, job placements, or salary increases as a result of participating in training or coaching programs. Success depends on individual effort, market conditions, and various external factors beyond our control.

Content and Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you submit to our platform, but grant us a license to use, display, and share it as necessary to provide our services. You represent that you have the right to share any content you upload.

Our platform, including its design, features, and content, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.

Payment Terms

Hiring Service Payments (For Companies):

• Placement fees are due upon successful candidate placement as per service agreement
• Payment terms and schedules are defined in individual service agreements
• Late payments may incur interest charges and suspension of future services
• All fees are non-refundable except as provided under the replacement guarantee

Training and Coaching Payments:

• Training program fees are due at the time of enrollment or as per payment plan
• Coaching session fees are charged at booking or as per package agreement
• Refunds for training programs are available within the specified cancellation period
• Missed sessions or no-shows are non-refundable unless rescheduled in advance

Interview Prep Platform (Future):

• Subscription-based access with monthly or annual billing options
• Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis
• You can cancel your subscription at any time; no refunds for partial periods
• Failed payments may result in service suspension until payment is resolved

All prices are subject to change with 30 days advance notice. We accept payments via bank transfer, UPI, credit card, and other methods as specified during checkout.

Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using our platform, you consent to our privacy practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers and Limitations

Our platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that our services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of our platform, except as required by law.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason. You may also delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your access to the platform will cease immediately.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of India. HOC Techlabs LLP is registered and operates in Bengaluru, India. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our Services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, India. Both parties agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of these courts.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify users of material changes by email or through prominent notices on our platform at least 15 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the new terms. If you do not agree to the modified terms, you must discontinue use of our Services.
